www.lindberghfoundation.org/docs/index.php/media-a-resources/media-and-resources-list/42-media-press-kit/305-reeve-lindbergh-bio
Located on the second floor and in the middle of the house, Reeve’s room enjoys afternoon sun through its west facing eyebrow window in this apple green room with an iron queen size bed and Vermont made lamps to read by. It is accented with an antique cabinet hand painted by Vermont artist Holly Martin with two chairs for reading Reeve Lindbergh’s books. Artwork in the room by Mary Azarian. We were thrilled to have Reeve stay at the Ardmore when she was keynote speaker for “Bookstock Vermont 2010,” which takes place in Woodstock during the last weekend in July.
A private en suite bathroom with marble floor.
Featuring beautiful children’s books by Vermont author Natalie Kinsey-Warnock. Natalie lives on the ancestral grounds of her Scottish forebears, who helped settle much of Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. www.kinsey-warnock.com
Located on the second floor with a corner view of Woodstock’s Mt. Tom, this room has three beautiful eyebrow windows that give light to the room's elegantly carved queen size bed, end tables and reading lamps. There’s also an antique writing desk just perfect for Natalie Kinsey-Warnock . . . or you. If you’re thinking about writing about Vermont, you’ll be inspired by Natalie’s book "From Dawn to Dusk," which includes seasonal favorite events which are “so Vermont!". A Mary Azarian woodblock entitled “Shadows of the Evening Steal Across the Sky” hangs above the desk. Black wide planked original wood flooring and a natural wool area rug complete the room.
A private en suite bathroom with marble floor.
Featuring books and art work by Vermont artist Mary Azarian who has illustrated over 50 books. In 1999, Snowflake Bentley, a picture book by Mary Azarian about Vermont’s famous photographer of snow flake crystals won the Caldecott Award. www.maryazarian.com
Located on the second floor, this room’s four beautiful eyebrow windows give light to a tall four poster queen size bed with end tables and reading lamps on either side of the bed. Mary Azarian’s art work displayed has a garden theme and the colors in her art are picked up in the bedding and wool area rugs on the wide planked, black wood original flooring. The branches of the maple trees in the front of the Ardmore almost touch the windows and in the fall there’s beautiful color just outside your windows. Enjoy the sitting area which looks out onto Pleasant Street while you are viewing Mary’s art work and many books. Mary’s art work is featured throughout the Ardmore.
A private en suite bathroom with marble floor.
Featuring books by Vermont author Archer Mayor and his critically-acclaimed series of police novels featuring Lt. Joe
Gunther of Brattleboro, Vermont. www.archermayor.com
Located on the second floor, our Archer Mayor room is a spacious secluded room with a queen size expresso colored farmhouse bed, with two reading lamps above the bed, large sitting area with two rockers, lamp, table and desk where you can enjoy reading an Archer Mayor book in front of the electric mantled fireplace. Black wide plank wood original flooring and natural wool area rugs complete the room. The dormer windows give you both Eastern and Western light. Warning: Archer’s books are page turners - you may be up quite late reading to help Lt. Joe Gunther solve his latest case! Art work by Phyllis Chase and Tom Puschock
“Archer Mayor doesn’t do quaint. He might use poetic imagery to
describe the austere beauty of New England’s rugged mountains
and snowbound villages, but as far as their crime content is
concerned, his police procedural stories are about as authentic as
it gets.”
New York Times
A private en suite bathroom with marble floor.
Featuring books by well-known Vermont author Chris Bohjalian. His work has been translated into 25 languages and sold over 3½ million copies. www.chrisbohjalian.com
Located on the first floor with lots of windows, the Chris Bohjalian Room was originally the music room and its extra large bathroom was originally the sewing room. The room has beautiful original architectural details with wide ceiling and floor molding, hardwood floors, an original plaster ceiling medallion above the chandelier and a black marble fireplace. A focal point is the queen size hand carved four poster bed and sitting area complete with two chairs, butler’s table and reading lamp - perfect for reading one of Chris Bohjalian’s books.
Chris’s book "Idyll Banter" is one of Charlotte's favorite – giving the reader a true and wonderful picture of what it’s like to live in a small town in Vermont. There is also a desk if you feel inspired to write.
Art work by Michael McGovern.
“It’s interesting who has moved here – writers, artists in
general, people with an appreciation for life lived on a
smaller, saner scale, an appreciation of Vermont and value
nature. I like to think we’re the right people to move to
Vermont.”
Chris Bohjalian, writer
The extra large private bathroom has a deep Sanijet pipeless whirlpool tub, a separate walk-in Vermont Verde marble shower with marble floor. Art work by Holly Martin.
